In 2015, we made limited funded places available for twelve healthcare professionals to each do one University of Leicester Short Course in Diabetes

These highly regarded courses will equip them with the knowledge, skills and competencies required to provide effective, high quality, evidence-based care whilst gaining transferable academic research skills. They are able to choose from the following short courses:

  • The Role of Self-Management in Diabetes Care
  • Prevention, Early Detection and Screening in Diabetes
  • Diabetes and Obesity
  • Clinical Presentation and Management in Diabetes
  • Insulin Management
  • Clinical Presentation & Management of Endocrine Disorders
  • Adult Inpatient Care
  • Empowerment and Counselling Skills in Diabetes Care*
  • Clinical Presentation and Management in Diabetes
  • Children and Young People with Diabetes

The short course is taken as a standalone module but these CPD Credits can be used for progression on to the Diploma/MSc in Diabetes**
