What is EDEN?

Effective Diabetes Education Now (EDEN) is a comprehensive training package which aims to up-skill healthcare professionals to provide high levels of diabetes care, and reduce hospital admissions and referrals to specialist care.

We offer both one and two day modules covering topics from insulin management to hypoglycaemia, to shorter evening courses designed to fit around the hectic schedule of busy healthcare professionals. Our local education programme is delivered at Leicester Diabetes Centre through a combination of training, mentoring, CPD and masters accredited training, e-learning, and technology to assess knowledge and confidence and provide personalised training recommendations.

EDEN training is linked to competencies, which are signed off where practices are delivering an enhanced level of service, and also includes case study discussions and interactive exercises. Slide presentations, handbooks and other physical resources are provided to support the learning. Our courses are attended by healthcare professionals from many different CCGs from Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire to Staffordshire. We deliver bespoke courses at local venues and even international conferences to delegates from as far away as Spain or Saudi Arabia.

EDEN accredited by the Royal College of General Practitioners
