New Free Training Course for Healthcare Professionals: Holistic Approach to Metabolic Health

The undeniable link between cardiovascular, renal, liver and metabolic disease underpins every aspect of our new training offer. To deliver the best possible care to patients, healthcare professionals must be equipped with the latest evidence and guidance, and take a holistic, person-centred approach that considers the full picture of metabolic health.

EDEN, part of the Leicester Diabetes Centre, is proud to introduce a free, comprehensive training programme for primary care healthcare professionals:
Holistic Approach to Metabolic Health: The Link Between Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolic Disease.

Why this course matters

Metabolic disease does not exist in isolation. It often coexists with cardiovascular, renal, and liver conditions, and the recommended treatments are increasingly connected across these areas. This course aims to help healthcare professionals:

  • Understand the benefits of holistic, person-centred care for people living with metabolic disease.

  • Explore the interconnected nature of cardiovascular, renal, liver and metabolic conditions, and how this impacts treatment.

  • Build confidence in prescribing evidence-based treatments such as SGLT2 inhibitors.

  • Reaffirm the importance of lifestyle changes and the need to treat blood pressure, lipids, and glucose to target.

By focusing on these key areas, this training is designed to support improved clinical outcomes and ultimately enhance the quality-of-care patients receive.
